A boy throws a stone horizontally from the top of a cliffof height h toward the ocean below. The stone strikesthe ocean at distance d from the base of the cliff. Interms of h, d, and g, find expressions for (a) the timet at which the stone lands in the ocean, (b) the initialspeed of the stone, (c) the speed of the stone immediatelybefore it reaches the ocean, and (d) the directionof the stones velocity immediately before it reaches theocean.
