Chapter 0, Problem 29

(choose chapter or problem)

The Eckel Manufacturing Company believes that their hourly wages follow a normal probability distribution. To confirm this, 300 employees were sampled, organized into the following frequency distribution. Use the methods of Section 3.15 in Chapter 3 to find the mean and standard deviation of these data grouped into a frequency distribution. At the .10 significance level, is it reasonable to conclude that the distribution of hourly wages follows a normal distribution?
