Exact area  Consider the linear function f(x) = 2px + q on the interval [a, b], where a, b, p, and q are positive constants.

a. Show that the midpoint Riemann sum with n subintervals equals \(\int _a^b\ f(x)\ dx\) for any value of n.

b. Show that \(\int _a^b\ f(x)\ dx=(b-a)[p(b+a)+q]\).
