Chapter 6, Problem 6.15

(choose chapter or problem)

Let \(P_{1}^{sat}\) and \(P_{2}^{sat}\) be values of the saturation vapor pressure of a pure liquid at absolute temperatures \(T_{1}\) and \(T_{2}\). Justify the following interpolation formula for estimation of the vapor pressure Psat at intermediate temperature T:

\(ln P^{sat} = ln P_{1}^{sat} + \frac {T_{2} ( T − T_{1} )} {T ( T_{2} − T_{1})} ln \frac {P_{2}^{sat}}{P _{1}^{sat}}\)

Text Transcription:

ln P^sat = ln P_1^sat + T_2( T − T_1 ) / T ( T_2 − T_1) ln P_2^sat / P _1^sat
