?Show that the points on the Joule/Thomson inversion curve [for which \(? = (?T/?P)_{H}

Chapter 7, Problem 7.46

(choose chapter or problem)

Show that the points on the Joule/Thomson inversion curve [for which \(μ = (∂T/∂P)_{H} = 0\)] are also characterized by each of the following:

(a) \((\frac {∂Z}{∂T})_{P}= 0\);

(b) \((\frac {∂H}{∂P})_{T}= 0\);

(c) \((\frac {∂V}{∂T})_{P}=\frac {V}{T}\);

(d) \((\frac {∂Z}{∂V})_{P}= 0\);

(e) \(V(\frac {∂P}{∂V})_{T}+T(\frac {∂P}{∂T})_{V}= 0

Text Transcription:

μ = (∂T/∂P)_H = 0

(∂Z / ∂T)_P= 0;

(∂H / ∂P)_T= 0;

(∂V / ∂T)_P= V / T;

(∂Z / ∂V)_P= 0;

V(∂P / ∂V)_T+T(∂P / ∂T)_V= 0
