Chapter 7, Problem 7.49

(choose chapter or problem)

Operating data are taken on an air turbine. For a particular run, \(P_{1} = 8 bar\), \(T_{1} = 600 K\), and \(P_{2} = 1.2 bar\). However, the recorded outlet temperature is only partially legible; it could be \(T_{2} = 318\), 348, or 398 K. Which must it be? For the given conditions, assume air to be an ideal gas with constant \(C_{P} = (7/2)R\).

Text Transcription:

P_1 = 8 bar

T_1 = 600 K

P_1.2 bar

T_2 = 318

C_P = (7/2)R
