Solution 1E Step 1 of 8: For the rotational effect of force ,the magnitude and direction of the force applied are important and also the point on the body where the force is applied. As the resultant rotational force know as torque is given by, = r × F = r F sin Where is torque, F is the applied force and r is the distance at which force is applied with angle between them as . Also we can find the direction of torque using right hand thumb rule for cross product of F and r.
