In each of the two cases shown, derive an expression for the constant \(k_{e}\), in terms of \(k_{1}\) and \(k_{2}\), of the single spring equivalent to the given system, that is, of the single spring which will undergo the same deflection \(x_{0}\) when subjected to the same force P.
