QUESTION:

Show that the argument form with premises and conclusion is valid if the argument form with premises and conclusion r is valid.

ANSWER:

SolutionStep 1It is given that the premises are p1 , p2 ,p3 ,.............pn and conclusion q r. So, the conclusion q r is false only when q is true and r is false. So, apply the rule of inference of conjunctions because at least one of the premises must be true.( p1 p2 p3 ............ pn) Now, ( p1 p2 p3 ............ pn) (q r)Here, the condition is only false when premises are false
