A lattice is called distributive if x ⋁ (y ⋀ z) = (x ⋁ y) ⋀ (x ⋁ z) and x ⋀ (y ⋁ z) = (x ⋀ y) ⋁ (x ⋀ z) for all x, y, and z in L.
