Step 1:

The equation for the maximum range of a projectile is, R = v02 sin 2𝜽 / g

Where, v0 - initial velocity with which the projectile is thrown

           𝜽 - Angle it made with the x-axis

           g - acceleration due to gravity

In the question, they have provided, Rmax = v02 /g

Comparing both equations, we can see that, sin 2𝜽 = 1

 2𝜽 = sin-1 (1)

2𝜽 = 90°

𝜽 = 45°
