QUESTION:

Problem 2E

An airplane propeller is rotating at 1900 rpm (rev/min). (a) Compute the propeller’s angular velocity in rad/s. (b) How many seconds does it take for the propeller to turn through 35o?

ANSWER:

Solution 2E

Step 1 of 6:

An airplane propeller is rotating at 1900 rpm (rev/min). (a) Compute the propeller’s angular velocity in rad/s.

In the given problem, the angular speed is given in revolution per minute, we need to convert the given angular speed to radian per sec.

  • One complete revolution is equal to 2rad,

That is                        1 rev=  2rad

  • Similarly 1min has 60sec,

                                                1 min = 60 sec
