(choose chapter or problem)

A laboratory has a 1.80-^tg sample of radioactive 13Nwhose decay constant A = 1.16 X 10- 3s-1. Calculate theinitial number of nuclei, Nq, present in the sample. Usethe radioactive decay law, N = N0 e~kt, to determine thenumber of nuclei N present at time t for t = 0 to30 minutes (1800 s) in steps of 0.5 min (30 s). Make a graphof N versus t and from the graph determine the half-life ofthe sample.
