Chapter 9, Problem 9.22(choose chapter or problem)
Consider an air-standard Diesel cycle. At the beginning of compression, \(p_{1}=14.0 \mathrm{lbf} / \mathrm{in} .{ }^{2} \text { and } T_{1}=520^{\circ} \mathrm{R}\). The mass of air is 0.145 lb and the compression ratio is 17. The maximum temperature in the cycle is \(4000^{\circ} \mathrm{R}\). Determine
(a) the heat addition, in Btu.
(b) the thermal efficiency.
