Chapter 12, Problem 12.60

(choose chapter or problem)

At atmospheric pressure (1.013 105 Pa) and 20.0C, 1.00 g of water occupies a volume of 1.00 cm3. (a) Find the change in internal energy when the water is heated to the boiling point. (b)When the water is boiled, it becomes 1 671 cm3 of steam. Calculate the change in internal energy for this process. Assume the steam vapor doesnt mix with the surrounding air and that it expands at atmospheric pressure.
