Impedance Use the result of Exercise 40d and write the amplitude in terms of circuit parameters; that is, replace m by L, c by R, v0 2 by 1 CL , and F0 by vE0. Express the amplitude of the steady-state current as C* = E0 B R2 + avL - 1 vC b 2 . The denominator in this expression is called the impedance (with units of ohms). Show that the impedance is minimized (which maximizes C*) when v2 = 1 CL , which is the analog of v0 = v. Maximizing C* (minimizing the impedance) often gives the best reception in a radio receiver.
