Earth-Centered or Sun-Centered? The phenomena discussed in this chapter are all visible to the naked eye and have been known throughout human history, including during the thousands of years when Earth was assumed to be at the center of the universe. For each of the following, decide whether the phenomenon is consistent or inconsistent with a belief in an Earth-centered system. If consistent, describe how.
