II) An ac voltage source is connected in series with a1.0-/zF capacitor and a 750-11 resistor. Using a digital acvoltmeter, the amplitude of the voltage source is measuredto be 4.0 V rms, while the voltages across the resistor andacross the capacitor are found to be 3.0 V rms and 2.7 Vrms, respectively. Determine the frequency of the ac voltagesource. Why is the voltage measured across the voltagesource not equal to the sum of the voltages measured acrossthe resistor and across the capacitor?
