(II) What magnetic field B is needed to keep 998-GeV

Chapter , Problem 58

(choose chapter or problem)

(II) What magnetic field B is needed to keep 998-GeV protonsrevolving in a circle of radius 1.0 km (at, say, the Fermilabsynchrotron)? Use the relativistic mass. The protons rest massis 0.938 GeV/c2. (l GeV = 109 eV.) [Hint: In relativity,ri^taVll r = QvB is still valid in a magnetic field, whererare i = ym.]
