Chapter , Problem 77

(choose chapter or problem)

In a vacuum, a proton (charge 51e, mass 5 1.67 3 10227 kg) is moving parallel to a uniform electric fi eld that is directed along the 1x axis (see the fi gure). The proton starts with a velocity of 12.5 3 104 m/s and accelerates in the same direction as the electric fi eld, which has a value of 12.3 3 103 N/C. Find the velocity of the proton when its displacement is 12.0 mm from the starting point.
