Air to ventilate an underground mine flows through a large 2-m-diameter pipe. A crude flowrate meter is constructed by placing a sheet metal “washer” between two sections of the pipe. Estimate the flowrate if the hole in the sheet metal has a diameter of 1.6 m and the pressure difference across the sheet metal is 8.0 mm of water.
