Using Figure 7-41, suppose that the surfaces described are not frictionless and that the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the surfaces is 0.30. The block has an initial speed of and slides 2.0 m before reaching the ramp. Find (a) the speed of the block when it reaches the ramp, and (b) the distance that the block slides along the inclined surface before coming momentarily to rest. (Neglect any energy dissipated along the transition curve.)
