(a) Show that if the refrigerator statement of the second law of thermodynamics were not true, then the entropy of the universe could decrease. (b) Show that if the heat-engine statement of the second law were not true, then the entropy of the universe could decrease. (c) A third statement of the second law is that the entropy of the universe cannot decrease. Have you just proved that this statement is equivalent to the refrigerator and heat-engine statements?
