Chapter , Problem 47

(choose chapter or problem)

Investigate how a thin film of water on a glass surface affects the critical angle for total reflection. Use for glass and for water. (a) What is the critical angle for total internal reflection at the glasswater interface? (b) Does a range of incident angles exist such that the angles are greater than for glassto- air refraction and for which the light rays will leave the glass, travel through the water, and then pass into the air?
