SPREADSHEET Astack of ideal polarizing sheets is arranged so that each sheet is rotated by an angle of with respect to the preceding sheet. A linearly polarized light wave of intensity is incident normally on the stack. The incident light is polarized along the transmission axis of the first sheet and is therefore perpendicular to the transmission axis of the last sheet in the stack. (a) Show that the intensity of the light transmitted through the entire stack is given by (b) Using a spreadsheet or graphing program, plot the transmitted intensity as a function of for values of from 2 to 100. (c) What is the direction of polarization of the transmitted beam in each case?
