(a) Find the wavelength of a particle in the ground state

Chapter , Problem 67

(choose chapter or problem)

(a) Find the wavelength of a particle in the ground state of a one-dimensional infinite square well of length (b) Find the momentum in units of for a particle that has this wavelength. (c) Show that the total energy of an electron that has this wavelength is approximately (d) What is the kinetic energy of an electron in the ground state of the well? This calculation shows that if an electron were confined in a region of space as small as a nucleus, it would have a very large kinetic energy.
