(choose chapter or problem)

Should you use the bootstrap standard error and the t distribution for the confidence interval? For each of the following situations, explain whether or not you would use the bootstrap standard error and the t distribution for the confidence interval. Give reasons for your answers. (a) The bootstrap distribution of the mean is approximately Normal, and the difference between the mean of the data and the mean of the bootstrap distribution is large relative to the mean of the data. (b) The bootstrap distribution of the mean is approximately Normal, and the difference between the mean of the data and the mean of the bootstrap distribution is small relative to the mean of the data. (c) The bootstrap distribution of the mean is clearly skewed, and the difference between the mean of the data and the mean of the bootstrap distribution is large relative to the mean of the data. (d) The bootstrap distribution of the mean is clearly skewed, and the difference between the mean of the data and the mean of the bootstrap distribution is small relative to the mean of the data.
