Bootstrap comparison of tree diameters. In Exercise 7.85 (page 471) you were asked to compare the mean diameter at breast height (DBH) for trees from the northern and southern halves of a land tract using a random sample of 30 trees from each region. N(a) Use a back-to-back stemplot or side-by-side boxplotsto examine the data graphically. Does it appear reasonableto use standard t procedures?(b) Bootstrap the difference in means xNorth xSouth andlook at the bootstrap distribution.
