Chapter , Problem 10.18

(choose chapter or problem)

A square-edged orifice meter is used to measure the airflow rate in a 4-in.-diameter pipe (actual diameter 4.026 in.) with corner pressure taps. The pressure drop across the orifice is 1 psi and the diameter of the orifice is 3 in. Calculate the mass and volumetric (in SCFM) flow rate of air both with and without considering the compressibility effect. The line pressure and temperature are 7 atm (gage) and 70F. 10
