Chapter , Problem 10.29

(choose chapter or problem)

Based on ASME specifications, determine the nozzle size of a regular (not critical), 10w-,8 nozzle flowmeter needed to measure a maximum airflow of 0.1 kg/sec of air for a 25C to 300C temperature range and 1000 kPa in a 5-cm line. The pressure drop should not exceed 40 kPa (corresponding to the maximum flow rate). Where will you need to measure the pressure and temperature? For the chosen nozzle, calculate the mass flow rate of air if the air temperature and pressure in the pipe are 150C and 500 kPa, respectively and the measured pressure drop is 20 kPa .
