We have to find the force exerted on a ball which is placed in a shallow wedge with an opening angle of \(120^{\circ}\), as shown in figure below.

                                                 

                                                 

The force exerted on the ball can be determined by writing the equation for the net force in \(y\) direction.

                                                     \(\Sigma F_{y}=0\)

                                                      \(F_{1} \cos 30^{\circ}+F_{2} \cos 30^{\circ}-m g=0\) (Assume the system is frictionless)
