Solved: A particle is in the three-dimensional cubical box

Chapter 41, Problem 41.5

(choose chapter or problem)

A particle is in the three-dimensional cubical box of Section 41.1. For the state nX = 2, nY = 2, nZ = 1, for what planes (in addition to the walls of the box) is the probability distribution function zero? Compare this number of planes to the corresponding number of planes where c 2 is zero for the lower-energy state nX = 2, nY = 1, nZ = 1 and for the ground state nX = 1, nY = 1, nZ = 1.
