QUESTION:

We know that -40°F is the same as −40°C. Is there a temperature for which the Kelvin and Celsius scales agree? Explain.

ANSWER:

Step 1 of 2

The Fahrenheit scale of temperature is made using the base scale as the Celsius scale; therefore, we can find a value where the Fahrenheit and Celsius scale becomes equal. At 0 degrees Celsius, the value of the Fahrenheit scale is 32 Fahrenheit, and at -40 degrees Celsius, both the scales become equal, i.e. -40 Fahrenheit is equal to -40 degrees Celsius.
