Do as Professor Dan Johnson does. Pour about a quartercup of water into a gallon or 5-liter metal can with a screwtop. Place the can open on a stove and heat it until the waterboils and steam comes out of the opening. Quickly remove the can from the stoveand screw the cap ontightly. Allow the canto stand. The steaminside condenses,which can be hastenedby cooling the canwith a dousing of coldwater. What happensto the vapor pressureinside? (Dont do thiswith a can you expect to use again.)
