You can make rain in your kitchen. Put a cup of water ina Pyrex saucepan and heat it slowly over a low flame. Whenthe water is warm, place a saucer filled with ice cubes on topof the container. As the water below is heated, droplets format the bottom of the cold saucer and combine until they arelarge enough to fall, producing a steady rainfall as the waterbelow is gently heated. How does this resemble, and differfrom, the way that natural rain forms?
