(choose chapter or problem)

Acidity in Rainfall Refer to Exercise 8.33 andthe collection of water samples to estimate the meanacidity (in pH) of rainfalls. As noted, the pH for purerain falling through clean air is approximately 5.7. Thesample of n 40 rainfalls produced pH readings withx 3.7 and s .5. Do the data provide sufficient evidenceto indicate that the mean pH for rainfalls is moreacidic (Ha : m 5.7 pH) than pure rainwater? Testusing a .05. Note that this inference is appropriateonly for the area in which the rainwater specimenswere collected.
