Solved: (Moments of inertia) Justify the following
Chapter 10, Problem 10.1.127(choose chapter or problem)
Justify the following formulas for the moments of inertia of the lamina in Prob. 22 about the x-, y-. and z-axes. respectively:
\(I_{x}=\iint_{S}\left(y^{2}+z^{2}\right) \sigma d A, \quad I_{y}=\iint_{S}\left(x^{2}+z^{2}\right) \sigma d A \)
\(I_{z}=\iint_{S}\left(x^{2}+y^{2}\right) \sigma d A\)
Text Transcription:
I_x = iint_S (y^2 + z^2) sigma dA, I_{y} = iint_S (x^2 + z^2) sigma dA
I_z = iint_S (x^2 + y^2) sigma dA
