Chapter 5, Problem 466

(choose chapter or problem)

Carmen and Pat both need to make up a missed physics lab. They are to measure the total distance (2x) traveled by a beam of light from point A to point B and record it in \(20^{\circ}\)  increments of \(\theta\) as they adjust the mirror (C) upward vertically. They report the following measurements. However, only one of the students actually did the lab; the other skipped it and faked the data. Who faked the data, and how can you tell?
