Chapter 6, Problem 97

(choose chapter or problem)

A baseball leaves the hand of a player at first base at an angle of \(\theta\) with the horizontal and at an initial velocity of \(v_{0}=80\) feet per second. A player at second base 100 feet away catches the ball. Find \(\theta\) when the range r of a projectile is

\(r=\frac{1}{32} v_{0}^{2} \sin 2 \theta\).

Text Transcription:

theta

v_0 = 80

r = 1/32 v_0 ^2 sin 2 theta
