Chapter 1, Problem 1.42D

(choose chapter or problem)

A solid metal object has a volume of \(0.01 \ \mathrm{m}^3\). Select a metal from Appendix C-1. Use the density of the metal to determine: (a) the weight of the objects at a location where the acceleration of gravity is \(g = 9.7 \ \mathrm{m/s}^2\), and (b) the magnitude of the net force, in N, required to accelerate the object at \(7 \ \mathrm{m/s}^2\) in a horizontal direction.
