Chapter 1, Problem 50

(choose chapter or problem)

In each part, find examples of polynomials \(p(x)\) and \(q(x)\) that satisfy the stated condition and such that \(p(x) \rightarrow+\infty\) and \(q(x) \rightarrow+\infty\) as \(x \rightarrow+\infty\).

(a) \(\lim _{x \rightarrow+\infty} \frac{p(x)}{q(x)}=1\)

(b) \(\lim _{x \rightarrow+\infty} \frac{p(x)}{q(x)}=0\)

(c)\(\lim _{x \rightarrow+\infty} \frac{p(x)}{q(x)}=+\infty\)

(d) \(\lim _{x \rightarrow+\infty}[p(x)-q(x)]=3\)
