Sound Location A rifle positioned at point is fired at a target positioned at point A person hears the sound of the rifle and the sound of the bullet hitting the target at the same time. Prove that the person is positioned on one branch of the hyperbola given by where is the muzzle velocity of the rifle and is the speed of sound, which is about 1100 feet per second.
