Chapter 1, Problem 40

(choose chapter or problem)

A top is spinning with a constant angular speed of 12 radians/sec. Suppose that the top spins about its axis of symmetry and we orient things so that this axis is the z-axis and the top spins counterclockwise about it. (a) If, at a certain instant, a point P in the top has coordinates (2, 1, 3), what is the velocity of the point at that instant? (b) What are the (approximate) coordinates of P one second later?
