The logistic difference equation with migration is of the form Nt11 Nt 1 Nts1 2 Ntd 1 m where Nt is the population at time t and m is the migration rate. Suppose that as t l ` the population size approaches a limiting value N. (a) What equation does N satisfy? (b) Use implicit differentiation to find the rate of change of N with respect to m. (c) Find an explicit expression for N as a function of m, differentiate it, and compare with your answer to part (b).
