It has been suggested that since heavier vehicles are responsible for more of the wear and tear on highways, drivers should pay tolls in direct proportion to the weight of their vehicles. Suppose that a Toyota Camry weighing 3350 lb was charged $2.70 for traveling an 80-mile stretch of highway. a) Find an equation of variation that expresses the amount of the toll as a function of the vehicles weight b) What would the toll be if a 3700-lb Jeep Cherokee drove the same stretch of highway?
