Chapter 18, Problem 40

(choose chapter or problem)

In Example 6 on page 971 two parameterizations, A(t), andD(t), are used to convert a line integral into a definite integral. In 34, two other parameterizations, B(t) and C(t),are used on the same line integral. In 3840 showthat two definite integrals corresponding to two of the givenparameterizations are equal by finding a substitution whichconverts one integral to the other. This gives us another wayof seeing why changing the parameterization of the curve doesnot change the value of the line integral.A(t) and D(t)
