Solved: Think About It In Exercises 2730, determine whether there is a relative maximum

Chapter 13, Problem 29

(choose chapter or problem)

In Exercises 27 - 30, determine whether there is a relative maximum, a relative minimum, a saddle point, or insufficient information to determine the nature of the function f(x, y) at the critical point \(\left(x_{0}, y_{0}\right)\).

\(f_{x x}\left(x_{0}, y_{0}\right)=-9, \quad f_{y y}\left(x_{0}, y_{0}\right)=6, \quad f_{x y}\left(x_{0}, y_{0}\right)=10\)

Text Transcription:

(x_0, y_0)

f_{xx} (x_0, y_0) = - 9,     f_{yy} (x_0, y_0) = 6, f_{xy} (x_0, y_0) = 10
