The switch in the circuit shown in Fig. P8.55 has been closed for a long time before it is opened at t = 0. Assume that the circuit parameters are such that the response is underdamped.

a) Derive the expression for \(v_{o}(t)\) as a function of \(V_{g}, \alpha, \omega_{d}, C\), and R for \(t \geq 0\).

b) Derive the expression for the value of t when the magnitude of \(v_{o}\) is maximum.
