For the rectangular parallelepiped shown, develop an expression for the scalar projection \(F_{B C}\) of F onto line BC. Point M is located at the centroid of the triangle ABC formed by “chopping off ” the corner of the parallelepiped. Plot your expression over the range \(0 \leq d \leq 3 b\), and determine the maximum value of \(F_{B C}\) along with the corresponding value of d. See Table D/3 in Appendix D for the centroid location of a triangle.
