Consider the case of a navy pilot landing an aircraft on an aircraft carrier. The pilot has three basic tasks. The first task is guiding the aircraft's approach to the ship along the extended centerline of the runway. The second task is maintaining the aircraft on the correct glidesiope. The third task is maintaining the correct speed. A model of a lateral position control system is shown in Figure AP6.2. Determine the range of stability for K a 0.
